Sunshine

The weather was too good to be true today. Spent 4 hours in the early afternoon at Newbury and spent the next 4 hours in the other side of town in Natick Mall. Restaurant Reviews

Giacomo’s Restaurant
431 Columbus Ave Boston
AWESOME place for pasta! However, they're only open for dinner. It is recommended that you call in to reserve or it'll be an hour wait even if it's only the 2 of you. Although the parking is seemingly impossible, the valet is super nice and the food is incredibly amazing. Have to order menu: fried calamari for appetizer, and the pasta with the mixture of lobster and uhmm diavlo( sounds like that) as the sauce. But don't expect to have a serious conversation in this place. I always find myself screaming trying to talk with my company. This place is purely for great staff and heavenly italian food.

The Buttery
314 Shawmut Ave
Boston
(617) 482-1015
A super cute coffee shop in the South End. It was 11am and the place was packed with people. They have always been famous for their cupcakes but surprisingly it wasn't much of a selection that day. Regardless however, this is the perfect place to experience true boston. FYI: Not a great place if you're not a dog lover. I on the other hand was happy with all the little cuties. Oh I was surprised to also see Alexis Blendel from Gilmore Girls trying to hide behind her celebrity shades. Although I was the only one who noticed her. haha.

Morton's Steakhouse
699 Boylston St
Boston
(617) 266-5858
Morton's is well known both within the states and internationally. So I was expecting alot when we went there for dinner. Much to my dissapointment, it did not look like the $$$$ restaurant open table described it as but looks very much like a sports bar. The waiter showed us the meat and fish options to choose from and I'm sure they had a good marketing strategy behind it, it didn't really work on me. I chose the sesame crusted tuna. I requested for half raw and was annoyed when it came fully cooked. The dressing was mediocre and I didn't finish it and had it packed for lunch the next day. I guess I shouldn't go to a steakhouse for fish in the first place. But from what I heard, the others were OK with their steak selection. We all agreed though that it didn't bring up to its name.

Oga's Sushi
915 Worcester Rd Natick
(508) 653-4338
The exterior of this place does not do justice to the restaurant. Although it's right next to a highway, I never ever even thought of dropping by to have some sushi for the 5 years I've been in Boston. It looks sketchy and would honestly be the last place I would consider consuming raw fish. But a friend suggested to go and I was pleasantly pleased by the ambience of it as you enter. One tip however, DO NOT order the teppanyaki meal. The sauce is bland, the chicken and shrimp over cooked. Not to mention it's pretty expensive. However, the sushi was satisfying and the contents incredibly fresh. Especially the Spicy Scallop.

Designer Profile- Yigal Azrouel

Yigal Azrouel is a relatively new designer yet an incredibly talented one I say. I recall my first day at work during one of his shows in Boston, MA. He was this good looking guy, very calm and cool and yet friendly to all his models and helpers ( AKA me) Honestly speaking, before that day, I had heard of him before. He was not as commercialized as many other designers who I can say that are much less talented than he is. But that's just what makes Azrouel's garments such art and worth every penny. The drappery, the fitting, material, and little touches, is a great compliment to the woman figure. His famous jersey dresses are worn by an array of celebrities including Katie Lee Joel, Gabriell Union, Jessica Alba, and many others.
Here's some of my own personal collection. Each piece is an investment but they're such great staples for the wardrobe and all the compliments I get for them makes every penny oh so worth it!

Gloomy Sunday

With Spring seemingly far from near, I dressed up in reflection of the weather outside. Here's a few shots of the city of Boston. Regardless how gloomy it is, Boston still looks wonderful.

Graduation Banquet

It's graduation season and I've been down in the dumps that so many of my good friends will be leaving for good. Unfortunately for me, I will still be here for another year. As much as I love Boston, there's just wayyy too many friends leaving.

The graduation banquet however was a wonderful night of great company, music, food, and an array of stylish fashionistas. Here's some pics of me and my friends. I will miss you all.:(

Summer List- Purchased

1. The Golden Book of Chocolate
300 + recipes all made from chocolate! Although I'm actually allergic to chocolate, being the wannabe pastry chef that I am, it's well worth it.

2. Cuisine Art Ice Cream Maker
I've always been such a Frozen Yogurt freak that I finally decided to try making my own. I'm so excited to make them in Green Tea and Cookie flavors!

3. By Corpus Star Print Layered Tank from Urban Outfitters
Been looking for something with Star prints on a blouse. Ever since it debuted with YSL, I've been searching high and low. It was surprisingly hard to find!

4. Perfect Scoop by David Lebovitz
To accompany along with my new toy! I've heard excellet reviews on this book.

5. Indestructable Fedora from Urban Outfitters
Finally found myself a fedora. I hope this actually fits. I've never had a hat face ( I think it's a description) but always wanted to look cool like Nicole Richie with her fedoras. Haha.

6. Fringe Sandals in brown from Urban Outfitters
Was going to invest in a $100 pair by Dolce Vita that went above the calves but backed out for the investment and the in your face fringe look. Found these on sale on www.urbanoutfitters.com and in my size for $18! I got the last pair! Went back to the site and was no longer available:)

7. Fashioning Reality by Ben Barry
About an amazing entreupreneur who set up his own modeling agency when he was 13! He's then been famous for representing beautiful everyday women instead of skinny 24'' waists, 6 feet girls. His clients represents Dove and many other big companies. ANDDD he looks pretty cute too.

Although I did not accomplish any of my wanted list from the previous post, I'm fully satisfied with all these I got today! heeeeeeee wonderfullllll

Weekend Day Outfit

Thanks to Sophia to make my picture turn out so natural an amazing. Not at all showing the awkward embarassing feelings I really had...
First I wore a variety of bracelets to bring color to the outfit: Green Stone with Little Diamonds Bangle I designed + Prada Black Leather Bracelet + White Vintage Cuff from a dear friend :)

I was initially wearing heels then decided to put on my trusty flats since we were in Chinatown and we were going to walk around aimlessly.

Club Monaco Blazer + Adam and Urban Outfitters Layered Tank + Earnest Sewn Jeans + Chanel Flats + Balenciaga Bag

Not Your Typical Work Outfit

Ok, so I know many would probably disapprove of my outfit especially because I'm working in a corporate health care office. haaa. But in my defence, might as well dress fun for a serious job. Well it's an exception for me too that I hardly leave my office room and the only one enjoying my bold office attire is myself:) I made it a little more conservative by wearing flats instead of heels, and also solid black tights just cos the dress is a little on the short side.
Zara Cobalt Blue Silk Dress + Club Monaco Blazer + Forever 21 Stud Belt + Grey Balenciaga Bag+ Chanel Flats
Uhmmm now that my bed's all made, I think I should wipe the mirror. Awful streaks!

I know why should I wear diamonds to work. Hahhaa. Again, only for my eyes and internal happiness. The ring on the rear is the mother-daughter ring my mum designed for me and her. The one in the front is my 21st B'day present. Made of 9 small square diamonds and complimented with smaller diamonds around the band. Look like a huge engagement rock from a far. Love it. :)

WANTED LIST

Soooo.. I've realized I have not made a summer list. Not that I need anything else. But I'm going to anyways. I'll decide later if I'm actually getting them. Since my birthday has passed and Xmas is way too long from now...

So far I only have 3 items on this list. But these 3 would make me oh so happy.

1. I've been looking for chunky bright colored heels. My heel collection needs more color and I've realized I have wayyyy too many flats. Although I am almost 5'9'', I'll still willingly wear these any day. FYI, Stuart Weitzman makes the comfiest shoes for crazy tall heels.
Stuart Weitzman "Teeny" Platform Heels $365 via http://www.theshoegoddess.com/
2. This Salvatore Ferragamo belt is so cute! I'm imagining with a greyish loose fitting dress cinched at waist or worn with jeans. ICKKK adorable. Have to have it. Infact I'm going tomorrow after work to check it out:)

Neiman Marcus $220

3. Proenza Shouler PS1 bag. I LOVEEEE the crocodile tan one. Although I know I will never invest on one. I love the salmon color one too.

oooh... I want a white boyfriend blazer too. I love the one by Elizabeth & James from last season I think. But for $395? I don't think so. I'll look one in Zara for $39.50 :)

Back to Leather Leggings

So this wasn't the outfit I wore from the previous post but this was what I wore today. And a sneak peak of my undone bed and shoes thrown around the carpet. haa. It was back to chilly and windy out and was the perfect chance to wear my leather leggings again. Havent worn it since back in March and looks cute dressed down with my Tory Sandals. Forever 21 Tank + Romeo & Juliet Leather Leggings + H&M Grey Oversized Cardigan + Tory Burch Sandals
WOW I really need to clean my room:(

Perfect shine to my leather leggings. Can't stand those super shiny ones

Don't you love my tacky corridor carpet of my apartment. Classic.

Still no updates for now:(

Ok so I guess I kinda lied. These past week has been insanely busy and as much as I want to update my blog, I can't:( With 9-5 work, gym, catering, church... ARKH! anywhoo... Until I get to post new things, I stumbled upon this at work from The Satorialist. HOW CUTE! If you guys don't know about The Sartorialist yet, you should check his blog out. Amazing pics of street fashion. www.thesartorialist.blogspot.com. He has inspired me to start taking street fashion pics... That when time doesn't just fly by and I have time to just sit and watch people pass by on the lovely Newbury Street. Unlike the past few weeks not to mention the ugly ugly rain and 40F+ degree weather in MAY.
